If the books you want are not available at the Wood Buffalo Regional Library, staff will make every effort to obtain them from another lending institution.
- Items usually arrive within 2 – 8 weeks
- There is a 5 book maximum for interlibrary loan requests
- Some restrictions apply to the type of materials that may be loaned
- To access the interlibrary loan service you must be a member of the Wood Buffalo Regional Library
Extended Use Fees of 20 cents per day per item is applied to Interlibrary Loans. If you wish to request an extension on your ILL, please contact the Circulation Services Desk at 780-743-7800. Not all extensions requests may be granted.
You can now place interlibrary loan requests directly on the TAL Online website. Simply visit TAL Online, search for the title or author you are looking for, and place the request. You'll be required to fill out information, including selecting your library and inserting your library card barcode number and PIN. If you need assistance using the TAL Online website, you can visit their help page.
You can also check on the status of your ILL requests on the TAL Online website, here. You'll be required to select your library and insert your library card barcode number and PIN.

Interlibrary Loan services are interrupted during the Christmas holiday season. ILLs may be processed, but not ordered from December 14 to the first week of January. Regular service will resume after the holidays.
