Summer reads direct to your uptown neighbourhood!
We are excited to announce a new holds pick up option for Summer 2024! Beginning June 3rd, pop in to pick up your holds at Doug Barnes Cabin every Monday (except Statutory holidays) between 10am and 12pm.
Browse the catalogue and place items on hold online by noon each Saturday, selecting Fort McMurray Northside as your pick up location. Library staff will be onsite each Monday to check out your holds. Check out this video to learn how to ensure holds make their way uptown for you to pickup.
No time to place holds in advance? No problem - staff will have a small pop up library of materials available for all ages to browse and borrow each week at the cabin.
Please note - library materials can only be returned at our regular locations: MacDonald Island, Thickwood Save On, and Timberlea Independent Grocer. Staff cannot accept returns at Doug Barnes Cabin.
Looking for programming in your neck of the woods (literally) this summer?
Join us on Mondays, starting June 3, for Storytime at the Cabin! Our littlest readers can enjoy some stories from 10:30-11am and we'll have stories for slightly older readers from 11:30am-12pm. We will have crafts, sensory bin, literacy games, and toys available from 10am-12pm.
