Summer at WBRL

Looking for some fun this summer? Look no further than your local library!

Free Programs

Join us every day this summer for programming for all ages. Read on for a few highlights and click on the age headers to be taken directly to our calendar and program listings. *Most programs for ages 6+ are registered.

Newborn-5yrs

We have drop-in story time programs 6 days a week for the littlest of readers! New this summer is Storytime Under the Stars every Thursday evening from 6-6:30pm. Special guest Lasha Barbosa will join us to lead our first ASL weekly program open to anyone interested in ASL.

Kids (6-8yrs)

We're getting crafty and having so much fun at our regular Kid Create but also at Happy Campers on Mondays and Wednesdays. Some of the activities in July include: sponge boat races, yoga, lava lamps, and more!

Tweens (9-12yrs)

Tweens can explore their creative sides at our regular Tween Time but also at S'more Fun on Tuesdays and Fridays. Some of the activities in July include: tie-dye, forensic fun, Elder Walk, beaded creatures, and more!

Teens (13-17yrs)

This July teens can join us for a summer paint afternoon or our photography workshop!

Adults (18+)

Our regular programs like ELL Conversation Group and Thursday Tech Table will continue but we also invite adults to be adventurous at Learn Latin Dance!

Reading Buddies (6-12yrs)

Avoid the 'summer slide' with Reading Buddies! Readers will be paired with a reading buddy as they read aloud, with the reading buddy assisting and encouraging them. Reading Buddies takes place 5 days a week with 30 minute time slots.

Camp Summer Reading Competition

Need a little incentive to keep up your reading over the summer? Sign up for our Summer Reading Competition! Simply download the Beanstack app and sign up under your appropriate age group. Once you sign up you can track each book read from July 1-August 23 for your chance to win! There will be weekly and grand prizes for all age groups - it only takes one book to win! Check out our thermometer tracking in person at the library to see if we can beat last year's books read!
